We are at Penguins United know how many good and worthy causes there are. And legitimate requests for your charity.

But we at Penguins United are working hard to save the ice, and save the planet. Our planet and yours.

If this work is important to you, think about helping us. Penguin8 is our Treasurer and chief fundraiser, but between you and me, he has only been able to come up with a crate of sardines and a free pass to Disney World.

We have some pretty big ideas for the future. Help make them happen!

    Thank you very much for visiting us at penguinsunited.com. And thanks for your very thoughtful question.

    I wish there was a simple magic answer for you. But the problems facing all of us are very very large. The melting ice of the Arctic, the great amount of carbon dioxide produced, the expanding use of coal - these problems can only be changed by the actions of human beings around the world. By driving less, by saving energy and not using more.

    Some of it can be changed by how you live your life and the choices you make. But some of it involves what big companies do, what countries do.

    I guess the first step is thinking about the world we all live in. Thinking about the other living things. And trying to do your best to see how we all are in this together. By talking with your friends and reading about what is happening in the world around you.

    Change only comes from thoughtful action. And when the few become many.

    My penguin friends and I will do our best to help you learn about what is happening.

    Several adults have made lists of things you can do to use less energy: replace coal-fired plants with solar energy. Drive less and use public transportation. Protect your forests and stop cutting down tropical forests.

    Stop polluting streams and rivers and oceans with chemicals. Protect endangered species.

    All of this means changing the way humans use and abuse our Earth. It can be done if enough of you really want to save the world.

    One penguin is not enough. Many penguins are not enough. But with the help of many millions and millions of people we can Save the Ice and Save Our Home.
